The single pod crib mattress has one sculpted contoured pod centered in the middle of the crib mattress to provide the infant with a safe, controlled and supportive sleeping environment. This pod area supports the baby’s head and body while relieving external pressure from firm flat surfaces. This pod alleviates the need for any type of sleep positioners which are not recommended by the Consumer Products Safety Commission or by the American Academy of Pediatrics. According to new AAP guidelines, babies are recommended to sleep in the supine position in a bare crib with no sleep positioners, crib bumpers or any other accessories and to avoid too much time in their crib on firm flat surfaces. This new guideline was released to help reduce SIDS and to help avoid flat spots from developing.
